PEDI Participates in Central Vietnam Landslide Seminar

On December 25, 2025, PEDI took part in a high-level technical seminar on landslide disasters in Central Vietnam, held at the University of Architecture in Da Nang. The event, organized under the framework of international cooperation projects related to JICA, brought together experts, academics, and representatives from Japanese organizations, including Okuyama Boring Co., Ltd. and Hokuto Bank. The seminar served as an important platform to address the growing challenges of landslides in the region and to explore effective prevention and mitigation strategies.

During the seminar, PEDI played a key role not only as a participating enterprise but also as a local consultant in JICA-related projects, particularly in northern mountainous provinces such as Lao Cai. Leveraging its field experience in geotechnical engineering, PEDI contributed practical insights and supported the adaptation of advanced Japanese technologies to Vietnam’s specific geological and climatic conditions. This localization process is essential to ensuring that international solutions can be effectively applied in real-world contexts.

Beyond its technical contributions, PEDI acted as a vital bridge connecting international partners with local universities, experts, and the engineering community. The company facilitated knowledge exchange and helped shape discussions around practical challenges and solutions. The seminar also highlighted PEDI’s role in fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and global stakeholders, thereby enhancing the relevance and applicability of research outcomes.

The event marked an important step toward long-term cooperation in disaster risk reduction. With PEDI’s continued involvement, the integration of Japanese expertise into Vietnam’s disaster management strategies is expected to improve resilience and contribute to sustainable development in vulnerable regions.
