R&D project on self-sensing concrete by PEDI member has been published in the international journal of the Japanese Concrete Institute
The research group led by Dr. Nguyen Minh Hai (Vice Director of PEDI) and Dr. Nguyen Van Huong (Technical department) titled “Stress Self-sensitivity of Carbon Black-filled Mortar under Nondestructive Compression and the Effects of Electric Circuit and Specimen Dimensions” has been published in the Journal of Advanced Concrete Technology. This is a reputable international journal in the field of concrete published by the Japanese Concrete Institute.
The project has successfully developed a type of concrete with the ability to self-sense changes in its own stress under the compressive loads. With these initial results, PEDI hopes to develop technical solutions using this new generation material in the development of smart infrastructure in the future.
